In short

When you open Checkout and the cart still has out-of-stock items, Smart Counter still clears those lines (they cannot be sold) — and now automatically records a missed sale for each one, the same way as the Missed dialog. Demand no longer walks out the door just because nobody pressed M.

Auto missed sale on checkout (Smart Counter)

  • Out-of-stock lines removed before checkout are written to Missed Sales (demand only — no payment, no stock change).
  • Works for OOS lines already on the cart and for lines that fail a fresh stock check right before payment.
  • Quantity caps (reduce qty to available stock) are not treated as missed sales — only full removals.
  • A short toast confirms how many missed sales were recorded; review them under Sell → Exception → Missed Sales.

Manual Missed (M) is unchanged when you need notes or want to log demand without checking out.
