What this release is

The Categories screen is the home for your internal product taxonomy and storefront mappings. This release aligns the page with the design handoff, adds bulk CSV import, and fixes large-tenant category trees that stopped loading past PostgREST’s default row limit.

New

CSV category import — page-header Import opens a wizard for up to four hierarchy levels (level_1 … level_4); preview, validate, and commit in one flow.
Academy guide — Diataxis Categories guide with real screenshots (overview, search, add root/child, edit, delete blocked, import).

Improvements

KPI summary rail — Total, Active, Inactive, Root, and Storefront-mapped counts at a glance.
Five-column tree — Category, Products, Storefront mappings, Status, and row actions with expand/collapse and status segment filter (All / Active / Inactive).
Page header actions — Import and Add Category on the page shell (not buried in the tree).
Row actions — add subcategory, edit, and kebab menu (rename, duplicate, activate/deactivate, delete with impact check).
Accurate product counts — paginated aggregation so tree badges and the delete dialog agree on how many products use a category.

Bug fixes

Large category trees — tenants with more than 1,000 categories now load the full tree (PostgREST pagination on category fetch).

Known issues / notes

Import is limited to four hierarchy columns per file; deeper trees need multiple imports or manual child creation.
Generic categories and storefront category tabs are unchanged in this release.
