Add your first product
You will add a single OTC product — name, classification, and price — then open the full editor to review tabs. This takes about five minutes.
Before you start
- You need permission to view and edit products (
product.viewandproduct.edit). - At least one brand and category should exist (create them under Brands and Categories if needed).
1. Open Products
Go to Catalog → Products (/pims/products).
Note the KPI strip at the top — Total, Active, Unverified, and On demand update as you add or change products.
2. Quick Add
Follow Add a product (Quick Add):
- Name: Demo Pain Relief Tablets
- Brand and category: pick any active entries
- Form: Tablet
- Price and cost: enter retail and purchase values
- Active: on
Click Save & add another to stay in the dialog, or Create & continue to open the full editor.
3. Complete in the full editor
Follow Edit a product:
- Review Basic Details — SKU, pack size, drug control
- Open Pricing — tax class, margin
- Open Storefront — publish toggle and tab builder for rich PDP content
Click Save changes in the sticky header when done.
What you learned
- The list page is for discovery and quick edits; the full editor holds regulated and storefront fields.
- Quick Add is ideal for batch data entry; Create & continue hands off to the sidebar-tab workflow.
- KPI counts and the list refresh after create/delete.
Next steps
- Search and filter products when the catalogue grows.
- Inline edit price and cost for fast counter-side updates.
- Categories — assign every product to your internal taxonomy.
