Create your first purchase order
You’ll learn: how to raise a purchase order end to end, and let the app suggest the quantities for you. By the end you’ll have a saved Draft PO. You’ll need: a store, a warehouse, and a supplier with products and some sales history.
1. Open the Purchase Orders screen
From the warehouse menu, open Purchase Orders. You’ll see the KPI strip (Open POs, Awaiting Approval, In-Transit Value, Monthly Spend) and the list of existing POs. Click New Purchase Order.
2. Set the header
Fill in the top card:
- Store, then Warehouse (the warehouse list narrows to the store you pick).
- Supplier — choose one with products and sales history.
- Leave PO Number as the generated value, and Required By / Notes for now.
3. Let projection fill the order
Instead of adding products by hand, switch the mode toggle to Projection.
- Confirm the Supplier is selected (the scope pill reads Supplier scope).
- Leave Project across warehouses on the warehouse you chose (it’s pre-filled), or add more stores/warehouses to combine demand.
- Set Desired Inventory Days to the cover you want — try 30.
- Click Calculate Projection.
The app pulls each product’s sales velocity and adds suggested quantities to the order. Click Show Details to see the SV /day → Suggested Qty table.
Seeing nothing? That’s normal when your products are already well-stocked for 30 days — they suggest 0. Raise Desired Inventory Days (e.g. to 180) and recalculate to see suggestions appear.
4. Review and adjust
Scan the line items. Each row shows quantity, cost, retail, margin, and tax, with a running totals bar at the bottom. Tweak any quantity (clearing one keeps the row — use × to remove a line), or click a product name to check its purchase history.
5. Save
Click Create Order. Your PO is saved as a Draft and appears at the top of the list.
