The Top Bar & Notifications

The top bar wraps every screen in Ailaaj. This guide explains each control, left to right, plus the notifications bell. (Module features live in their own guides — this is just the app shell.)

Left side

  • Menu (☰) — toggles the sidebar between the icon rail and the labeled rail. Your choice is remembered.
  • Quick actions — New Sale, New Stock, New Product grouped into one control. Each takes you straight to that task (subject to your permissions).

Right side

  • Ailaaj Assistant — the colourful beat-tile pill opens the in-app AI assistant for help and analytics questions. (Shown only if the Assistant module is enabled for your pharmacy. There is no longer a floating chat button.)
  • Help (?) — opens Ailaaj Academy (academy.ailaaj.com) — guides, release notes, and how-tos — in a new tab.
  • Notifications (bell) — see Notifications below.
  • System — the server icon with a status dot (green = operational, amber = syncing, red = attention). It groups all the technical controls:
    • Connection — Online/Offline state, and the Smart Counter Hub (pairing + heartbeat, with an auto-reconnect countdown if it drops; Manage opens pairing).
    • Maintenance — Rebuild offline cache and Offline diagnostics.
  • Account — your avatar + name + role. The menu has Profile, Notification preferences, Settings, and Sign out. (The same menu sits at the bottom of the sidebar.)

The light/dark theme toggle has been removed from the top bar.

Notifications

Click the bell to open your feed.

  • Filter chips under the header — All, plus a chip per type that has items (POs, Transfers, Orders, Picklists, Forecasts, GRN, System), each with a count. Tap a chip to filter; tap All to clear.
  • Rows show the item with a type icon; unread items are bold with a coloured dot. Click a row to open the record (and mark it read).
  • Dismiss — hover a row and click ✕ to remove it from your feed (separate from “read”, and per-user).
  • Header buttons — mute/unmute sound, mark all read, and settings (notification preferences).

System announcements

Items with a megaphone icon (under the System chip) are announcements broadcast to everyone — a new guide, a maintenance window, etc. Open one via its link, and dismiss it with ✕ when you’re done. Announcements are always delivered; you can dismiss each after reading.
